Phoebe DeAngelo
Describe your experience and educationI shadowed Joanne for the first time in 2016 and immediately fell in love with speech therapy. Throughout high school and my undergraduate studies, I was lucky enough to intern at Miracle Farm as a co-teacher for preschool groups and the Camp Runamuck summer program. I graduated in 2022 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Communication Sciences and Disorders major and minors in Psychology and Education. I continued my studies at UMass to earn a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in May 2024. As a graduate clinician, I had a multitude of experiences including time at MFST and a K-12 school where I built upon my clinical expertise in a variety of populations, ages, and goals.
Why do you love speech therapy?
I love speech therapy because it allows me constant opportunities to make a difference in young lives. Every day I witness individuals overcome communication barriers, gain confidence, and achieve their goals through therapy. I feel immense joy in being part of the journey that allows individuals to communicate effectively, opening doors to improve relationships and increase participation socially, academically, and in the world.
