Tess Olson, M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Briefly describe your experience and education.
I am a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University where I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication Disorders with a minor in psychology. After graduate school, I began my career in skilled nursing. With my passion always being working with children, I happily joined the team at Miracle Farm Speech Therapy upon moving to the seacoast, where I have had the opportunity to work with those from preschool to young adult! I enjoy working with children of all ages and abilities.
Why do you love speech therapy?
I love speech therapy because I get to help children learn, grow, and become more confident in themselves and their abilities. I enjoy that each day is different, fun, and sometimes challenging. I also enjoy finding ‘what works’ for each child and tailoring therapy to their own individual needs and interests. Being the person to help a child to communicate is such a gift.
What are your passions outside of work?
I enjoy cooking, crafting, being outside, and spending time with my family and friends.
What are three words someone would use to describe you?
Responsible, kind, caring
If you could be any animal what would it be?
I would be a cat. I’d love to sit in the sun, curl up, and take a nap anytime I wanted!
What is your guilty pleasure?
Ice cream – specifically Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia!
