Jamie Chiles

Briefly describe your experience and education.

I recently graduated from the University of New Hampshire with my Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I am currently completing my clinical fellowship as a Speech Language Pathologist for Miracle Farm Speech Therapy! During my graduate studies, I had the opportunity to practice under amazing speech pathologists in various pediatric settings such as UNH’s on-campus clinic, preschool programs, public school programs, as well as outpatient hospitals.

Why do you love speech therapy?

Knowing that no two children are the same keeps everyday interesting! The speech field is so diverse that I know there are always more learning and growing opportunities! I always knew I wanted to work and help children but I was not sure where to start. During high school, I had the opportunity to shadow a speech language pathologist and since that experience, I knew this is what I wanted to do! Being able to work with families and caregivers to help facilitate speech and language skills for their children is so rewarding! I love watching my clients learn speech, language and or communication skills. My clinical interests include AAC, individuals with complex medical needs, motor speech disorders as well as hearing loss.

What are your passions outside of work?

I love to travel and help people in need. When I was in high school, I went on two services trips to the Dominican Republic and Peru in which my service group helped build schools for the local children. Outside of work, I love being outdoors, exploring new placing and trying new recipes. I also love spending time with my family and friends and my new puppy!

What are three words someone would use to describe you?

Empathetic, Honest, Compassionate

If you could be any animal what would it be?

Definitely a puppy!

What is your guilty pleasure?

Sleeping in!!
