Mara Hiley Chery
Briefly describe your experience and education.
Speech-language pathology is a career change for me. After college I briefly worked in the nonprofit industry. However, I didn’t find being in an office and working at a desk enjoyable, so I decided to make a change. I went back to school and graduated from Worcester State University with a bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2014 and a master’s in speech-language pathology in 2018. I have been working in a preschool since. I joined Miracle Farm in February 2022 and currently work after-school hours.
Why do you love speech therapy?
Speech therapy is a very fun profession, where I get to help children grow through play, arts and crafts, books, and games. I also enjoy seeing the growth and progress in the clients I work with.

During my time off I enjoy reading, walking in nearby trails, and yoga.
